Leadership. Teaching by Prophet N. Tshuma

1 Samuel 16:7

7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
..................................................

This was a time when David was chosen. Samuel went to David's family and David's father presented to him his other sons whom he deemed to be the suitable candidates. Prophet Samuel would reject Jesse's choices until the moment when the Lord told him not to evaluate them based on their appearances or physical statures for God looks at the heart. Leaders are chosen by God not because of who they are or their capabilities, they are chosen because of the content of their hearts. In most cases, people have voted for individuals who have turned to disappoint them. The reason being, when it comes to the selection of leaders, people choose leaders based on the level of eloquency yet they will be unable to deliver the required services. Leaders become great because of what they carry inside them. Moses was a stammerer but God chose him with his weakness. If you want to be a great leader, you must pay attention to your heart. Every Christian is a leader. You are light of the earth, you are the salt of the earth, you are the head and not the tail and you carry dominion. All these are connotations from God affirming that you are a leader. When you receive Jesus Christ of Nazareth, you become an ambassador of Christ, therefore, you are a leader. You are representing the One you are carrying inside. Your character and behaviour must represent Him. A good leader does not focus on making people happy, instead he focuses on making God happy. If you are carrying an instruction from God, those who are of God will listen to you. The one who makes God happy through his lifestyle and leadership is a great leader.

Matthew 20:26

26 Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant
..................................................

Leaders are servants. Whether you are a Man of God, a President or in whatever leadership role you hold, you must be a servant. What makes us fail in the quest of leadership is the reason that we are masters. If you consider yourself to be a master in this world, you will never encounter greatness. Servanthood means that you are a person who looks at other people's situations and make it your duty to solve them. Leaders are problem solvers. A leader does not pinpoint a problem and leave it unsolved or point fingers at fellow leaders. A leader solves problems. When a leader notices a crisis, they become humble, solve the crisis, thus making greatness follow them. If you are a servant of Jesus or a servant in this world, you must be willing to take any conditions. Your meditation should be upon solutions and not on problems. You should always ask the Holy Spirit to use you as a channel of peace and make you an instrument in His hand. If you do so, you will rise and become a great problem solver and your life will change.

Philippians 2:3-4

3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
..................................................

If you want to become a great leader in this world, throw away all selfish ambitions. Do not be profit driven. If you form a business motivated by your interests, it is bound to fail. Selfish interests and ambitions will make you fail. The main driving force for creating a business should be premised on job creation.

Pride is born out of looking down upon others. Pride is the biggest demon, Lucifer comes second because he is a product of pride. Great leaders focus on strength, they do not look down upon others. If you are a leader, you should humble yourself and consider other people's circumstances and place their interests ahead of yours. If only you can follow the instructions of Jesus, you will succeed and become great.

1 Timothy 4:12

12 Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
..................................................
A great leader is an example to all believers in the world. Do not have two personalities inside of you (a single personality for the world and one for Christianity). As a leader, your conduct matters the most. Let your conduct come from within your heart and not from the desire to be envied by the world. You are the light, you are the solution, you should provide for the less fortunate. Your words must impart grace to the hearers, they should motivate and let someone be encouraged in the Lord. In the midst of the struggles, Job stood in faith. Christians or leaders must be people who are examples in faith. A person of faith follows what the Word of God says, they are not shaken by circumstances. As a leader, you should lead a sin free life. All your conduct should be above board, for nothing is hidden under the sun. Amen.
